OLIVE
Definition
From the earliest times in Bible history, the olive had been the most common of the fruit trees of Palestine. The chief value of the olive tree is the oil extracted from its fruit. From its extreme old age, the beauty of the tree when in fruit, and the value of its products, many figurative allusions are made to it in the Bible. The olive branch is regarded as an emblem of peace.
