YEAR OF JUBILEE

Definition

The year of Jubilee was the fiftieth year, that is, every year following the close of seven sabbatical years, each of seven years, beginning on the Day of Atonement and ushered in by the blast of trumpets. All slaves were released and all property sold during that time returned to its original owners.
