JERICHO
Definition
An ancient, strongly fortified and celebrated city of Palestine, in the Jordan Valley. It was called the "city of palm trees." Spies were sent into the ancient city and received by Rahab. It was the first city attacked by Joshua after crossing the Jordan. He was miraculously aided in capturing it; the wall "fell down flat."
