HELL
SHEOL, GEHENNA
Definition
In the Old Testament, the Hebrew word is Sheol which corresponds to Hades in Greek. In the New Testament, the words translated "hell" are Hades and Gehenna. In some instances, the words Sheol and Hades mean merely "the grave."
