DANIEL
Definition
A heroic Jewish youth taken as a captive to Babylon, where he was educated at the court and for royal service. With devine aid, he interpreted the king's dreams, and was made ruler and chief of the governors of Babylon. He also had the wisdom and courage to interpret the handwriting on the wall at Belshazzar's feast. Later, he refused to pray to the king and was thrown in the lion's den. He was the last of the greater prophets.
